The NeuroSaeculum project explores how history, psychology, and institutions shape society. It does so through four interconnected frameworks, supported by additional tools and lenses.
🔵 Hidden Circuitry
What it is: A neurobiological lens on history.
- Explains the recurring Four Turnings through feedback loops of hope, fear, and trust.
- Shows how dopamine/cortisol cycles drive generational mood shifts.
- Helps forecast when crises erupt and how societies reset.
🟦 Civic Topology
What it is: A living map of public issues and their causal links.
- Each issue has its own neutral page.
- Each causal relationship has its own page with evidence.
- Reveals feedback loops and moral value conflicts.
🟩 First Foundation
What it is: A pattern language for resilient institutions.
- Provides design patterns that address systemic civic problems.
- Organized into meta-patterns (Volume 0) and institutional patterns (Volume 1+).
- Links directly to issues in Civic Topology to show solutions in context.
🟪 CivMMI (Civilization Maturity Model)
What it is: A scale for measuring how well societies manage cycles of crisis and renewal.
- Inspired by the Capability Maturity Model.
- Levels range from Chaotic to Metacognitive.
- Provides benchmarks for resilience, adaptability, and self-awareness.
