Structured Event Intake

Purpose

Create a structured record of a qualified event inside the NeuroSaeculum Intake Buffer.

Structured Event Intake externalizes memory, preserves source material, and accumulates signals for later threshold assessment.

This activity does not perform synthesis. It does not classify structural dynamics, assess thresholds, generate Monitor Logs, or perform Artifact Harvest.

Input

Inputs may include:

  • headline
  • article link
  • excerpt
  • source summary
  • public statement
  • legal or policy document
  • report
  • academic paper
  • event description
  • notes from News Discussion
  • decision from Event Intake Qualification
  • something from NS-Adjacent Resources

Required input:

  • a qualified event or source item that deserves structured memory entry

Intake Buffer

The Intake Buffer is maintained as a local LibreOffice ODT file.

The buffer exists to hold qualified events without forcing premature interpretation.

It is not:

  • a Monitor Log draft
  • an SDT draft
  • an article draft
  • a full diagnostic record
  • a place for synthesis

The Intake Buffer is structured memory, not analysis.


Entry Format

Each qualifying event should be entered as its own record.

Preferred format:

  • one event per page
  • headline formatted as H1
  • source link or citation
  • publication date or event date
  • brief factual summary, if useful
  • optional excerpt or copied source text, if needed
  • optional note identifying why the item was entered

The document should generate a Table of Contents from H1 headings.

The Table of Contents becomes the preferred input for Monitor Threshold Assessment.


Minimum Entry

At minimum, each intake entry should include:

  • headline or short descriptive title
  • source
  • date
  • enough factual context to recover why the item mattered

If time is limited, a short entry is acceptable.

The goal is to prevent signal loss, not to produce polished analysis.


Content Rules

Keep entries:

  • factual
  • concise
  • source-grounded
  • neutral
  • easy to scan later

Avoid interpretive expansion at this stage.

Use enough detail that future review can understand what the event was and why it entered the buffer.


What Not To Do

Do not:

  • identify Structural Dynamics
  • assign Drift Triggers
  • evaluate load behavior
  • diagnose systemic failure modes
  • create Event Overlays
  • create Civic Topology artifacts
  • draft Monitor Log sections
  • draft SDT findings
  • speculate about long-term impact
  • perform Artifact Harvest

Those belong to later workflow activities.


Optional Intake Note

A short intake note may be included if it helps preserve why the item was captured.

Example:

Intake note: possible cluster seed related to institutional boundary testing.

or

Intake note: may be relevant to housing / insurance / wildfire topology.

This note should remain lightweight.

Do not turn the intake note into analysis.


Output

Required output:

  • one structured Intake Buffer entry

Optional outputs:

  • updated Intake Buffer Table of Contents
  • note for later threshold review
  • reminder to revisit source material
  • PM Task only if intake reveals a separate operational need

Structured Event Intake does not normally produce standalone NS artifacts.


Completion Checklist

Before closing Structured Event Intake, confirm:

  • event/source has passed Event Intake Qualification
  • entry was added to the Intake Buffer
  • headline is formatted as H1
  • source and date are included
  • brief factual context is included or intentionally omitted
  • no synthesis was performed prematurely
  • the entry will appear in the Table of Contents
  • next activity is clear

Artifact Harvest preserves downstream system value.

Structured Event Intake protects the workflow from memory loss and premature analysis.
